I am a single mum of three, we have two dogs, Slipper and Vinnie and a Ragdoll cat called Peggy. I'm very lucky to live in a beautiful part of the UK, with amazing views over the North Yorkshire Views and the White Horse of Kilburn.
I have always loved animals. I grew up on a farm in rural North Yorkshire, and was always found in with the lambs or the pigs! Horses were the absolute love of my life, and from an early age I started drawing them - on everything -including my school books. In fact horses feature quite heavily in my secondary school report usually together with the words day-dreaming.
I left school at fifteen and went on to art college to study art and design, gaining a BTEC diploma after two years, I have to say those two years took the joy out of art for me sadly. I am very detailed, and spending two years having to draw and paint in large format, with no details made me re-think what I wanted to become. I joined an advertising agency as a tea girl at 17, moving up to typesetter (which was wonderful as attention to detail is everything), creative artworker, and then into leadership and management and finally business coaching.
It was Christmas 2015, when my daughter bought me a colouring book and pencils, that I re-found my love of drawing, and I haven't looked back! I decided to take the huge leap in January 2017 to become a full time artist, taking pet and equine portrait commissions, working out of my studio at home in a little village near the city of Ripon.
My commissions can be seen all over the world, from Hong Kong, to New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the USA, as well as the UK.
As well as being a commissioned artist, I have now re-found my love for training - something I did and loved previously - and for coaching. Helping and supporting is a deep rooted value, and combining my art with my business knowledge and coaching has enabled me to help other artists on their road to success.
I have workshops booked across the UK, South Africa and the USA, with tours of Canada and Australia in the pipelines for 2021, as well as a growing community of artists on my teaching channel.
I feel incredibly blessed to have such support and loyalty when it comes to my followers, thank you to everyone who has taken a part in my little journey. Bonny
